Description

Unica Zürn (1916–1970) was a 20th-century artist and an exceptional woman. The aim of this book is to restore her status as an artist in her own right, as her fate—often described as tragic—tended to overshadow her creative work. Although her work is now widely scattered across numerous collections, nearly seventy drawings and prints have been brought together here, most of which were produced during her stay at Sainte-Anne Hospital in the early 1960s. Archival documents and photographs provide a deeper insight into her work as a draughtswoman, painter and writer.
